Privacy Policy

Draft · last updated July 2026

LexFeed is built to respect your privacy by collecting as little as possible. This is a draft policy for an early-stage project run by a solo developer, written in plain language. It explains what happens to information when you use the site.

No account required

You do not need to create an account, log in, or give us any personal information to read LexFeed. The site works fully for anonymous visitors.

Personalization stays in your browser

Preferences such as dark mode, compact mode, hidden sections, and thumbnail settings are saved locally in your browser using localStorage. This data lives on your device, is never transmitted to us, and never leaves your browser. Clearing your browser storage will reset these preferences.

Server logs

Like most websites, the servers that deliver LexFeed may keep standard request logs. These can include your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested, and they exist for security, debugging, and basic operations. We do not use them to build profiles of individual readers.

No selling of data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. There is no market in your data here.

No third-party ad trackers

The LexFeed MVP does not include third-party advertising trackers. If we ever add analytics, we intend to use a privacy-respecting approach that avoids cross-site tracking, and we will describe it here.

Cookies and local storage

LexFeed relies on browser local storage for your preferences rather than tracking cookies. Any cookies that do exist are limited to what is needed to make the site function. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings.

Children's privacy

LexFeed is a general-audience news site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can address it.

Future features

LexFeed may later offer optional features such as an email digest or user accounts. Any such feature would be strictly opt-in, would collect only what it needs to work, and would be covered by an updated version of this policy before it launches.

Contact and data questions

Questions about privacy or your data can be sent to [operator contact email]. See also our Terms of Use.
