Shakespeare in the Park – 2026 Much Ado About Nothing Directed by Drew Davidson Antagonist Productions Announces Free Shakespeare in the Park: Much Ado About Nothing LEXINGTON, KY — Antagonist Productions is proud to announce the return of its annual Shakespeare in the Park, presenting Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare. This year’s production, directed by Drew Davidson, will run July 10–13 and July 16–19, with Opening Night on July 10. Since launching the event in 2021, Antagonist Productions has made Shakespeare in the Park a beloved Lexington tradition by offering high-quality theatre that is completely free to the public. Each summer, the event brings together audiences from across the community for an evening of live performance, music, and local collaboration. New this year, the production will feature a special Opening Night Ceremony on July 10, celebrating the artists, sponsors, and community partners who make the event possible. Each evening will begin with live music from local musicians, creating a lively pre-show atmosphere before the performance begins. During the first weekend, students from Innovation Arts Academy will return to perform a special children’s pre-show, showcasing young talent and welcoming families to the event. In addition to the performance, audiences can enjoy a variety of local food trucks, vendor tents, and sponsor booths throughout the evening. Local brewery West Sixth Brewing will also be on-site offering beverages for attendees. While the event remains free and open to the public, VIP seating will be available for patrons who wish to reserve premium viewing spots while supporting the production.
